Philosophy
The Golden Rule.
At all times and in all places, treat others as I would wish to be treated. We call it The Golden Rule. It has always been my guide.
Honesty, Openess, Fairness.
As an elected official, I must at all times and in all situations be Honest with my fellow citizens. I must be Open with my fellow citizens, even if this requires I recuse myself from participation in a particular case. And I must be Fair. There can be no favoritism.
Limited government.
I have always believed that government governs best that governs least. That is why my decisions will defer to the citizens as often and whenever possible.
Fiscal conservatism.
The county must live within its means. Taxes are a necessary evil, but they must be minimized whether times are good, or bad, they must be imposed with the greatest hesitation, and they must be utilized with the greatest of care.
